The Wildsteer is a special conceived knife for bow hunters or archers shooting outdoor or wherever a knife can be useful. The Wildsteer is also a very solid outdoor knife therefore those not interested in bows and arrows may very well ignore this side of the knife΄s utility. The knife is 100％ made in France and the producer offers along with it an extractor special patented for extracting arrows accidentally lodged in wood or a Swedish firesteel made by Light My Fire - one of these two tools can be worn inside the special space in the knife΄s sheath. Briefly for archery purpose the knife with the extractor (which has thread both outside and inside) is useful for 11／32” diameter wooden arrows with thread point or for all sizes aluminum and carbon arrows used with RPS 8-32 point insert (an extractor is also available for 5／16” wooden arrows with thread point but it does not have the inside thread for RPS 8-32 system) ; the extractor has no use for arrows with glued point. Main functions of extractor : vise function - unscrew the arrow from the lodged point ; point extraction - pulls out the point from the wood. The knife utility for arrow extracting is just a special function of this tool. The true quality of this knife is given by its heavy-duty robust blade and handle - blade thickness reaches 4.5 mm at the tip and around 7.5 mm next to handle. The Wildsteer is one piece construction, the handle is basic a steel bar, around 1.3 cm thick covered in strong quality leather. A special designed solid strike pommel is found at the end of the handle. The solid construction of the knife allows using it even for chopping or splitting wood. The 13C26 stainless steel has characteristics close to the known Sandvik 12C27 steel. The firesteel is the Light My Fire Scout model with special wooden handle and leather lanyard (without a striker).
